Greenwood Library

Welcome back to school from your local Seattle Public Librarians!

We love supporting St John’s students, families and teachers! We encourage your children to use the library as a place to gather, study, get school support and be part of our community space. We encourage them or you to ask us for help anytime!

Did you know we offer FREE HOMEWORK SUPPORT, M-TH 4:30-6:00?

Volunteers assist students K-12, with English, math, social studies and science during the school year. If our volunteers don’t know the answer, they help you find it. Students should bring their assignments and text books, but there are a lot of supplies you can borrow, graphing calculators, markers, paper, pencils, laptop, and if you need anything, just ask!

There are usually two librarians on desk to help assist students and families during the busy afternoons, but please do remember we are unable to directly supervise your child. If your child is coming to the library unsupervised, we need your help in keeping the library pleasant and safe for everyone! Please discuss our rules of conduct with your children; no running, eating, maintaining a reasonable noise level and cleaning up after oneself. Also remind them to keep an eye on their stuff, we have had unattended backpacks stolen in the past.

We love to meet St John’s parents! Please come into the library and introduce yourself when you pick up your child. Your help is greatly appreciated as we often have to remind students of these basic rules and those who don’t comply may be asked to leave the library for the day or longer as needed.

Thanks,
